It's been a very busy month around here... but before I forget, I've added a subscribe feature to the right. Just add your email address in the "follow by email" box then hit submit. Do that and you'll get my updates automatically, whenever I do a new post. It's pretty painless and is a really cool feature. You can unsubscribe anytime you want too so that's nice. OK, on with the show...
Back in April, Kirstin and I both got our Personal Progress Medallions.
Personal Progress is a program our church has for our girls.
They work on 8 different values (Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice & Accountability, Good Works, Integrity and Virtue.)
Completing 6 value experiences for each then a 10 hour project.
A value experience may be something along the lines of reading several different scriptures about that particular value, say faith, then having consistent personal prayer each morning and evening for 3 weeks. At the conclusion of the 3 weeks the girls then write in their journal how daily prayer has strengthen their strength.
I did this as a young woman and then again with Kirstin as an adult leader. It's a long process but well worth the effort.

I love this picture of Michael and
Emil M.!
How cute are Sumi and Mike?
I had Kirstin snap some pictures of Emil and I since I'm always the one behind the camera.
She didn't know when to stop.
They're a little dark but I like them all the same.
Don't they look so cute?
I'm thinking that I could do something like this
for wedding planners on the Outer Banks or maybe even the realtors that rent cottages as a little gift bag to give the renters for the week. I've got over 100 to do for this wedding in June so we'll see how I feel about them after that.
I know I could really could do a lot more with my business but I'm just not ready to move in that direction this summer. I'm still trying to work out the kinks.

I got a new bundt pan this week!
I know, it doesn't sound exciting but it is. It's got this really cool swirl design. Luckily I had some cake batter waiting in the fridge when it came in the mail late Friday afternoon. I tried it out immediately! It works like a dream. (More to follow on that ;)
Emil Michael is STILL looking for a job but hope is around the corner. He has a interview at The Cotton Gin tomorrow!!! Keep your fingers crossed.
This is like the post that never ends! I already filled you in on Kirstin.
Noah is ready for school to be over and done with. I've signed him up for a couple of summer camps plus he'll have scout camp. I'm not sure he's really excited about any of them but the Spy Camp at the Y. It does sound like fun.
Emil, the husband has decided to refrain from surfing until his Thesis is done. It's been dragging out over the past 3 semesters and so this was the ultimate sacrifice. I hope he gets it done soon! That's dedication.
Have a great week and drop us a line!

Kirstin's been prom-ing it.
First she went to our churches' Modest prom with some friends.

Then she went with a friend Jeremy to his Modest Prom. Which they never actually made it to- but that's another story.
Lest you think I've been slacking it. Business has been good. Some baby showers, birthdays and weddings. I'm working on these starfish and shell cookies as wedding favors in June. Each will be individually bagged and tied with Raffia.

Upon arriving home Emil M. promptly made a crown of clovers and crowned himself King of the Piano. |
