The Ring Ceremony & Reception

Lettering by Kirstin
Kirstin and Kyle had their Ring Ceremony and Reception at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head, NC.
We were blessed to be able to set up some the day before and then finish it off the morning of the event.

This is what we decided to do for centerpieces. Just a simple bowl with shells and floating candles. It was perfect! I loved how they turned out!

I had Nell, Dede and Emil's mom over one day to help decorate the cookies we had at each place setting as wedding favors. They looked great and everyone enjoyed a snack as guests waited for the couple!

I did all the desserts and they turned out well- thankfully!

My dear friend, Nell Long did a fabulous job with greenery.
I asked her to do something to fill the space we were working with and she worked magic! It was just perfect!

Kyle's ready!
The weather was very windy and a storm was imminent. That morning I had seen this phrase and it so described my feelings. This day was going to be perfect no matter what the weather!

But we decided to set up under the pier just in case it began to rain!

Emil Michael escorted me down the aisle

I love this happy girl!
So, since Kirstin and Kyle asked Emil to perform the ring ceremony she had Grandpop Moster walk her down the isle.

This is definitely one of my top 10 favorite pics. I love the blues!

Looks like Emil missed his true calling as a baptist preacher!

So just to give you some idea of how amazing our photographers ( click on the link to see the full wedding album. Coastal Shots. )were this shot above is what we got for shots from them all the while this pic below is what it looked like without their amazing lighting! The two silhouette guardians are Emil M. and Noah. Love the outline of their hair!

Talk about wind blown! This is one of my favorites!
I love my life... I could not ask for more.

So the storm was threatening and we were only able to get in about 5 minutes of pictures before we had to retreat from the rain!

Dancing the night away....
Love this shot of these two!

This one of Kyle and his mom makes me want to cry every time!
After the rain cleared they got some more shots outside.

It was just a magical day! It could not have gone better. We were so blessed in so many small ways and some very large ones.

We had so much help from family and friends working to help set up, helping cook, decorate cookies, lending dishes and tablecloths. They were all blessings and helped so very much but I would be remiss if I didn't mention my dear, dear friend, Jaime Johnson who listened to me stress over details for months beforehand, talked me off the ledge when I needed it, brainstormed decorations and worked tirelessly in the kitchen and with the food. I can't believe I didn't take one picture of her! She was amazing and I can never thank her enough for all she did!

And now, I am so glad it is done and that I will only do this 2 more times from the perspective of the mother of the groom!

All the photos were taken by Ryan and Hayley Diegelmann of Coastal Shots. They were amazing and if you need a photographer on the Outer Banks you should pick them!

May Madness!

This has been such a busy, joyful 6 weeks. So much has happened so I'm going to break it down into a couple of posts. Todays post is Kyle's Graduation and Kirstin & Kyle's Temple Sealing.

Kyle graduated from ODU on May 6, 2016 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Yay!
Quite the accomplishment! We were all so happy for him to reach this goal and it was a beautiful day for a graduation!

The following Tuesday, May 10th Kirstin and Kyle were sealed in the Washington DC Temple.

Noah and Emil M. had a little impromptu photo shoot in the hotel while we were in the sealing. (Noah is about the same height as Emil M. now!!) Then they drove to the temple with the Raneys and Dede, Kyle's Mom was able to get them to pose some more while they waited for us to come out.

My sister Sheila, her husband Mike and my Mom all came for the sealing. They arrived Monday night and left Wednesday morning. It was so sweet of them to make the trip for one short day but such a blessing to have them here!

Then lots of pictures of the happy couple around the temple grounds!

We were very blessed to have The Long's and the Trotman's join us for the sealing! Catherine and Emily are two of Kirstin's very best friends. Catherine was Kirstin's maid of honor and Emily was our amazing photographer! Love these two girls!

After the sealing and pictures we had lunch at Filomena's in Georgetown. It was amazing! I would highly recommend the lasagna to anyone. (I dream about it!) Then we all headed home and the newlyweds headed to The Raney's Lake house at Lake Gaston, NC. What a beautiful, special day!
