Oh that Martha Stewart! She's always getting me into trouble.
So this year Lorrie Taylor, a friend of mine who is a amazing artist, asked if we wanted to dye eggs together. Although we weren't able to fit it in time wise I did want to do our eggs a little differently than we had in the past so with a sweet egg blowing kit from Lorrie and an app called Martha Stewart eggs I set to work.

These were done by marbling them with dye and oil. They are some of my favorites.

One big note I would tell you if you want to do blown eggs. Blow them out after you dye them. I didn't and it was really hard to make them stay under the dye.

I hung them in our transom windows above the french doors that lead to the dining room and the board room. I totally copied Lorrie in hanging them from the doorway. She's a genius like that.

I think the Easter Look was a little less effective with the surfboards in the background.
We had a wonderful Easter spent at Emil's Aunt Cora. It was so nice to hang out with family. Should have taken my camera but I didn't so you get pics of eggs. Sorry!
I did quite a bit of business for Easter. The decorated cookies were very popular and I decorated about 150 of them. I decided to charge more in the future.

This was some market research I had to do last night. They're called Toffee Chip Bars. I found the recipe on Our Best Bites. It hurt me to have to make them and test them at 9pm as I was watching a movie with Emil last night (mostly my waistline). But I'm nothing if not dedicated to the cause. ;)

So a couple of months ago I decided to paint my hall closet. I've wanted to paint and replace the wire shelving in all the closets and most especially my pantry for a little while now. I thought starting with the hall closet would be a good start as it's small and only has one shelf. Plus it had a really gross water stain where some water from our food storage leaked on the side of the wall. The color I choose was Juicy Melon! I wanted something warm.

The painting went fast and I loved the way it turned out but the thought of figuring dimensions was a bit scary for my math challenged mind. So even thought the paint was done in January the shelf stayed wire for a couple of months. Then Emil came home early yesterday and asked what I wanted to do. When I said make a closet for the shelf he didn't even blink twice. He whipped that baby out in an hour. My hero!

I know I should have taken a pic with it empty but I didn't think of it until after I put everything back in a although I love you, I don't love you enough to pull it all back out just for a picture.
I love that I'm not scared to put anything on the shelf because it doesn't sag anymore. So simple but divine.

So about a month ago I made a baby quilt for a close friend of mine. I love the way it turned out. So easy with a jelly roll. (for those non-quilters it's a roll of coordinating fabric pre-cut for you). Then I saw these crocheted Mary Jane baby booties that I had to try.

I made those!
They turned out so cute, I had to make a larger pair in different colors.

I bought the pattern off of Etsy and decided to try to make some extras for Baby showers. Once I got the pattern they were pretty quick and they use up all those little bits of spare yarn I have floating around. Love that!
Well I've got to go spread mulch. It's not all glamour, crafting and snacks around here you know! Have a great week!
